Helen is best known for having the longest running Oktoberfest celebration in the United States, but there are many other events to enjoy throughout the year in and around Helen. See a complete list of events with more details at the Alpine Helen / White County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Celebrate Fasching, German Mardi Gras, with music and dancing. Traditional German costumes are welcome but not required.

BavarianFest over Memorial Day weekend features live German music, dancing, and food at the Helen Festhalle.

Fireworks are set off behind the Alpine Village Shoppes and the Helen Welcome Center. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the fireworks display.

Christmas in Helen starts with the annual Lighting of the Village in late November. Find unique gifts at the Christkindlmarkt in early December. All season long, Helen will be aglow with lights & holiday spirit.

Babyland General Hospital, home of Cabbage Patch Kids, hosts breakfast with the Easter Bunny, Easter Egg Hunt, arts & crafts, and games. An Easter Parade takes place in Cleveland.

The Helen to Atlantic Hot Air Balloon Race features the only long-distance balloon race in the US. Watch the beginning of the race, or view other balloon competitions throughout the weekend.

Oktoberfest is Helen's largest celebration, running from early September through late October. Enjoy German music, dancing, food, and drinks at the Helen Festhalle.

New Year's Eve celebrations at the Festhalle include live music, dancing, food & drinks, and the annual dropping of the Eidelweiss to mark the start of the new year.
